緣起 THE PURPOSE
近期，Light 推出了一支翻蓋式手機 Flip，配置實體按鍵，打動了我心，但是碩大的體積，讓我無法真正的喜歡它。
我喜歡 Light 的設計哲學，也擁有一台 Light Phone III，但是其軟體依然在開發當中，目前欠缺需要的 Signal messaging 功能，因此暫時將它放在防潮箱中。而現在隨身攜帶的則是刷了 Dumber OS 的 Qin F21 Pro。
從過去的文章可以發現，我是小型按鍵式手機的愛好者，曾經使用過 Punkt MP02 一陣子，但後來因為 MP02 對於中華電信 4G 網路的支援度不佳，加上 Punkt 也逐漸減少對於 MP02 的軟體維護，它待在防潮箱的時間也就愈來愈長。
如果真的有這個可能性，我希望 Light 可以推出一台直立式的按鍵式手機 Light Bar，它包含幾個元素：直立式機身、真正的 T9 鍵盤、沒有觸控層，也沒有任何可以滑動的東西。

Recently, Light introduced a flip phone called the Flip. Its physical buttons really appealed to me, but its bulky size kept me from truly loving it.

As you can tell from my previous posts, I am a huge fan of small, keypad-based phones. I used a Punkt MP02 for a while, but its poor compatibility with Chunghwa Telecom's 4G network, combined with Punkt gradually phasing out software support for the device, meant it ended up spending more and more time in the dry cabinet.
If it's at all possible, I really hope Light will release a candybar-style keypad phone called the "Light Bar." It would feature a few core elements: a candybar form factor, a true T9 physical keyboard, no touch-sensitive layer, and absolutely nothing that swipes or slides.

螢幕下方是一整排三顆控制鍵：三角形接聽鍵(返回)、中央帶確認鍵的四向方向盤、以及拒絕鍵X(取消)。再往下就是鍵盤——十二顆一樣大小的圓形按鍵，從 1 到 #，每個數字底下是小小的字母組。
四向方向盤直接借自 Light Flip，也正是讓整個配置成立的關鍵。這個概念早期的版本用的是單純的圓形確認鍵，再把滾輪放在右側邊框，結果是介面中最常用的動作——在清單裡往下移動——必須把拇指移出正面。對一支單手握持的手機來說，這個取捨是錯的。方向盤把所有操作收回拇指底下，也讓側鍵回歸它們該做的事：音量加、選單、音量減。
Below the screen is a single row of three control keys: a triangle Answer(Back) key, a four-way directional pad with a center confirmation button, and an X Reject(Cancel) key. Further down is the keypad—twelve equally sized circular keys, from 1 to #, with small clusters of letters beneath each number.
The four-way directional pad is borrowed directly from the Light Flip, and it is the key element that makes the entire layout work. Early versions of this concept used a simple circular confirmation key and placed a scroll wheel on the right edge. The result was that the most frequently used action in the interface—scrolling down through lists—required moving your thumb away from the front of the device. For a phone designed for one-handed use, this was the wrong trade-off. The directional pad brings all operations back under the thumb, and allows the side keys to return to what they are supposed to do: Volume Up, Menu, and Volume Down.

背面由中間一分為二。上半部是平滑面板，承載相機、閃光燈與一個內凹的品牌字樣。下半部是電池蓋——質地較粗的噴砂表面，以四顆星型螺絲固定，而且是設計成讓你真的拆得下來。
這裡真正發揮作用的是材質差異。少了它，那道接縫只會像一條印上去的線；有了它，電池蓋才會被讀成一個獨立零件，而這正是重點。Light 自家的手機一向把可維修性當成設計的一部分，而不是附註；在 2026 年，把螺絲留在手機外側本身就是一種對「這個東西是為什麼而存在」的表態。
電池蓋右下角有一顆小小的星號，呼應 Flip 闔上時蓋板上的那一顆。除了品牌字樣之外，機身上就只有這個記號。
The back is split in half across the middle. The top half is a smooth panel housing the camera, the flash, and a recessed brand wordmark. The bottom half is the battery cover—featuring a rougher, sandblasted finish, secured by four star-shaped screws, and designed so that you can actually remove it.
What really makes it work here is the contrast in textures. Without it, the seam would just look like a drawn-on line; with it, the battery cover reads as a distinct, separate component, which is exactly the point. Light’s phones have always treated repairability as an integral part of the design, not an afterthought; in 2026, leaving exposed screws on the outside of a phone is in itself a statement about "why this object exists."
The bottom right corner of the battery cover features a small asterisk, echoing the one on the Flip's front cover when it is closed. Aside from the brand wordmark, this is the only other marking on the device.
